It's not much help, but I found an article talking about the find. It doesn't mention where the original ended up, but it does mention a reproduction at a heritage centre in Faversham.

It sounds like the find was scattered pretty widely through the major museums, but I'm not having any luck finding the sword.

I don't have it in front of me, having loaned it to my brother, but is the line drawing you're referring to from Archeology of Weapons, by Ewart Oakeshott?

Hi Petr,
Have been looking for an article in Archaelogia (possibly) that discuss's ring hilts. Seen it along side other articles I have read. Unfortunately I have had no luck so far. All my online search's cant seem to find Archaelogia articles.
But found this which shows that there may some information around.
A catalogue of Anglo-Saxon and other antiquities discovered at Faversham, in Kent
http://books.google....ed+at+Faversham,+in+Kent&source=bl&ots=RvlzcQMy7d&sig=KPmav-BFECwXQZx2E3fdIaPTVMY&hl=en&ei=uIBZTKHpF8Pv4AbBnNirCw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CBMQ6AEwAw#v=twopage&q&f=false
I could only see a few pages, not sure if this is me or only a few pages are available.
Will keep looking to see if I can find anything
Andrew
